Education Center
Welcome!
I have worked with people touched by cancer for more than two decades. And in that time, I have learned that cancer affects the lives of millions
of people. It is not just the people living with the disease, but also the families and friends who provide care and support. In 2010
alone, about 1.5 million people in the United States were diagnosed with cancer1 – but, there is hope for people affected by
cancer. As you may have read on the Cancer: It’s Personal website, research is advancing in some cancer types and has the potential
to change the way we diagnose and treat the disease.
These educational materials were designed to provide helpful resources about
personalized medicine in oncology. Here, you can:
LEARN more about personalized medicine and biomarker testing
ACT with helpful tips on how to talk to your doctor about biomarkers
WATCH an educational video
EXPLORE further resources on personalized medicine and cancer
We are proud to share these resources with you and hope you find them useful. You can download and print most of this content. That way, you can share it with your family, friends or treatment team. I also encourage you to talk to your doctor if you have any questions about personalized medicine. As cancer care continues to progress, we are proud to be able to provide you and your loved ones with this helpful information.
Sincerely,
